|I lost two friends in 2017|
|Both of Professor Chan and Professor Fan were Taiwanese; American Citizens; professors of Mechanical Engineering Department (but from different Universities), both of them strongly supported Taiwan.|

|I introduced Professor Fan this forum, he visited this forum, but he never posted any comment.|

|I met Professor Chan in Dallas. One day; his families invited two other families and me (I was single at that time) to his home for diner, we found out all of us (4 guys) graduated from 高雄中學(but we were from different cities), then our topic focused on a music teacher who had a very famous (but funny) nick name.|

|There are many types of Taiwanese Americans who strongly support Taiwan (from my experience with them in many issues which related to Taiwan), but I just give one example:
Type 1, “Professor Chan's families” type: One day (more than 15 years ago), CNN had a poll which related to Taiwan and China (I forgot the title), I called Professor Chan to go to vote to support Taiwan, Professor Chan's wife answered the phone, she told me that she and her daughter kept re-voting to support Taiwan for the past one hour before I called, I reminded hers to erase the Cooke (of the browser) before each re-voting, otherwise the re-voting would not be counted.

|Type 2, “5 minutes hot blood” type: The same issue, I called my broth-in-law to go to vote, he told me that he would keep re-voting until the result was in favor of Taiwan (if he had time), but my sister told me that he just did that for 5 minutes.|

|Type 3, “Politician” type: The same issue, I called a guy whose families had connection to the top level of 民進黨 (when Abian was President/Major) to go to vote to support Taiwan he said that it was useless to do that, because the result would be in favor of China, I asked him if he could post this issue in 民進黨 homepage to ask Taiwanese to come to vote, he told me to do that myself. I knew that if the issue might let his families to feel that they had power (other people must follow/listen to them) or their names could get attention, they would be very active to do that.
Type 4: Others.

|The friendship never dies; I can mediate to get very clear images of my friends talking to me as they are still alive.|

Read this "Type 3, “Politician” type: The same issue, I called a guy whose families had connection to the top level of 民進黨 (when Abian was President/Major) to go to vote to support Taiwan he said that it was useless to do that, because the result would be in favor of China,"
Why he thought "the result would be in favor of China"?
I know that you are too stupid to to know the reason, your stupid brain may think because China has more people to vote, wrong; Chinese in China can not come to vote.
Because "very honest" Chinese used robot to vote, but luckily CNN caught " very honest " Chinese cheated that time, CNN canceled the poll and re-opened the same poll again (but CNN stopped "very honest" Chinese to use robot to vote, the result of the poll was in favor of Taiwan.

However, that happened to be my impression.
I too met some real Taiwanese when I was in the US, considering their sons who were still in elementary school could speak more fluent and genuine Taiwanese than I did.
But then, I was seriously in lack of practicing.
One of them was even a preacher.
I can hardly forget this one, 'cuz he was trying to convert me.

|Sometimes I can't tell it's the political ideology that bound them or the religion, or simply doesn't matter, since the two tend to enforce each other.
I have to get off line now. Talk to you later.

You are right about "逝者已逝,紀念他們的方式就是永遠記得在一起美好的時光", I also do "永遠記得在一起美好的時光" with all of my friends who are still alive/may be alive.

Same here, I could not stand 國民黨 “brain washing education” which was one of the reasons I left Taiwan to come to US for graduate school.
Friendship is the bridge between people, a good friendship is that you cross the bridge to stand on your friend's side to consider of him/her, not expect your friends cross the bridge to do what you want them to do for you (this type of people called selfish, their first priority is their own benefit, this kind of friendship/bridge can be broken easily, the type 3 case showed above is in this category, so I don't take him/his families as friend)
That is my definition of good friendship, so even I don't like 國民黨 and communists' 黨, I have many friends who are 國民黨員; Chinese from China, even I strongly support Taiwan, I don't like many people of pro-Taiwan camp, I will not take them as friends.
When I meditate to get the clear images of my friends/families including dead people, I feel wonderful, it is one of my sources of happiness.

|Hi Golden, The way you put it on friendship is quite interesting.
I think the type 2 is more common in the real world.
type 1 is like when you feel "owed", not necessary to that particular friend personally, though.
It's much like paying your bills.
One is supposed to pay his due on a first time basis, without ifs and buts, if he's moral enough.
As for the type 3, the person is opportunistic, or bossiness oriented.
I myself have problem dealing with those too,
especially when I expect that "friend" to play type 1, or at least type 2.

Remember I told you that I built my own philosophy including philosophy of life. First, I defined the sources of stable happiness ( a good friendship was one of them), I saw the people glued together everyday, but they "back knife" each other, they could not get happiness from friendship, they always felt lonely/unhappy, so they need go out together everyday.

|I think with type 1 friends, we share the same value.
One works for the value he shares with type 1 friends.
But, to get any thing of value, one has to sacrifice. It's not easy.
So. You must have built your own political ideology too.
I guess you are leaning to Republican.

|No, "political region" is the source of unhappiness, it is the region of "power struggle". Do you think those politicians have "political ideology"?
Do you think those people do the "power struggle" to gain power are happy? they are under stress even they get the power.
